Introducing Super Simple

It's time for a new type of CMS. We need a CMS flexible enough that professional web developers can adapt it to their client's needs, but then simple enough to be maintained by those less computer literate. Thus I propose a new CMS, SuperSimple. SuperSimple will allow for joomla-style components and modules, be based on an MVC framework, and allow templating via a custom template engine similar to Smarty. The result will be a Search-Engine friendly, fully integrated, easy to maintain website with a custom look and feel that won't look prepackaged. The most important part will be the bundled component, List Manager (which needs a new, flashier name), will allow the creation of custom content types by end-users, including relational links between tables. For example, for a website with a library of articles, the article content type could be created with the fields, Title, Author, Category, Blurb, Text, Date, and both Author and Category could link to their own respective categories. The software will automatically allow for administrator editing, front end browsing and detail views, and all of this will be template-ready. This software is designed with programmers in mind. You'll be able to set up sites for your clients in a snap. For now I am making it opensource under the GPL and I'll post updates and development notes on this blog, starting in the coming weeks.
